Bench
Picture the scene, it's 1989, Ardwick Green in Manchester and a brand new British clothing brand is about to be launched. With influences coming from skateboarding, BMX and extreme sports Bench clothing was born. With the first collections predominantly being t shirts the brand really took off with it's eye catching designs and large branding while also featuring the Manchester skyline in logos and designs.
The 90s saw the introduction of now popular Bench Jeans, jackets, jumpers, accessories and Bench hooded tops alongisde the expanding collection of Bench T shirts. The large branding can usually be found on the front of the t shirts, polos and jumpers or across the back of the collar or hood as is found on the majority of the large range of Bench jackets and zip tops. The early popular zip tops and jackets saw a chunky embroidery logo on the neckline, perfectly showing the detailing that Bench Clothing includes in their branding.
Bench jeans feature a slightly different branding to the rest of the clothing with homage paid to their Japanese denim roots. The rising sun logo can usually be found on the back pockets of the jeans.
In recent times Bench have collaborated with Manchester band Oasis to release a limited edition Bench Jacket, celebrating the release of Oasis’ greatest hits. The global appeal of this brand has made it a massive collection to have, so make sure you grab your favourite pieces now at Mainline Menswear.
