Franklin Marshall clothing first began in the hills surrounding Verona, Italy in 1999. The range of clothing was designed around 1950s vintage collegiate style, with the words “Franklin & Marshall” emblazoned across it. Word soon spread and alumni of the famous
F&M
College in
Pennsylvania,
USA reported seeing
Franklin &
Marshall Merchandise for sale in
Europe, which confused the college greatly as they, at the time, didn’t sell merchandise that bore the college’s prestigious name. It wasn’t until many different sightings of the merchandise that
Franklin &
Marshall
College decided to investigate the outlet for the college styled prep wear. This two year investigation led them directly to the designers in
Italy that after lengthy discussions led to the agreement between the two parties that allows Franklin Marshall to appear on the hugely popular clothing that is seen in many top designer fashion outlets throughout the
UK, Europe and
USA. Franklin Marshall also has two flagships stores in
Milan and
Paris, ensuring the two fashion capitals of the world has a representation of the ever growing brand.
The top Italian designed menswear brand has a very distinct casual feel to it, while offering a vintage angle to college wear in the
US. In a recent online poll Franklin Marshall clothes were voted the largest selling designer menswear brand in
London, beating some of the largest men’s designer brands currently available to the
UK market. This was a major publicity boost for Franklin Marshall within the
UK, and set the foundations for a successful few years within the English Capital and throughout
Europe
