Cruyff Classics Recopa Trainers in Navy Quilted EffectWhile winter seems to be threatening to hit the UK early this year one thing that does seem to be creeping up rather quickly is Christmas. Love it or hate it the holiday signifies the end of the year, the start of a new one and hopefully a slow turn of change in weather, moving it back towards the normality of wet Spring Britain. To help you get over the winter blues and put some colour into the darkness Cruyff Classics have launched their popular footwear range early, and this season it’s a real cracker.

We now have 42 pairs of Johan Cruyff endorsed trainers available on Mainline Menswear with the prices ranging between £90 and £110 and the popularity ranging between must have and sold out! The range of Cruyff Classics trainers are proving as popular as bestselling trainer brand Lacoste at the moment, with the majority of these premium sports inspired trainers heading to Scotland and the North of England. Owing greatly to their fairly unique design and premium uppers Cruyff Classics have been popular on Mainline Menswear from their introduction in 2008, since then we have seen a huge selection of colours, styles and fabrics appear on the trainers with the most commonly used leather, suede and patent being coloured in Dutch orange, green, blue and red.

If you’re new to the brand, or have admired from a distance for a time then we recommend you start with the classic Vanenburg style. Named after a popular Dutch footballer, and wearer of the original Cruyff Classics football boots back in the 80s the Vanenburg lends its thin rubber sole unit to an oversized tongue, five piece material upper and lace fastening giving it the appearance of a thin sleek shoe that suits both fashion and football equally. The other popular style in the collection has to be the Recopa. Both are available this season in a wide variety of colours including the basic white, black and grey alongside ‘flash blue’, brown, ‘brandy red’ and a couple of other shades of colours that really make the trainers stand out in a crowd.

So whether you’re a fan of football, fashion or both the Cruyff Classics trainers are a must have this season at Mainline Menswear. Match these vintage sports inspired trainers with a pair of dark denim jeans or chinos and head out to the pub, the football or just generally out and about town – just remember that if Johan has put his name to it, then they must be good!
