Key Men’s Accessories this Winter
The weather conditions have become much more winter-like since November began and people are finally starting to wrap up warm and turn to the chunky seasonal clothing. As we all know it can be difficult to keep warm and look stylish simultaneously, but here we uncover the accessories which could turn mundane outfits into something much more interesting during the winter freeze.
Every modern man will get good use out of a travel bag but how many man actually have a good one that looks the part and can handle years of everyday life?
Brands appreciate the need for a “man bag” and there is a wealth of designs to choose from including the retro inspired barrel bag from Fred Perry as well as modern designs such as the latest from Antony Morato. But arguably the stand-out selection comes from British brand Barbour who have waxed, leather and tweed designs, making up a tasteful collection of practical carriers.
It goes without saying that the scarf is one of the key winter fashion accessories for men, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be imaginative and try new styles. Luke 1977’s latest set is a vintage silk selection coming in three different colour offerings. Each one is printed with a different vivid deign- one of which is paisley- making them the perfect choice for throwing into a smart ensemble with a blazer, brogues and a sweatshirt for example given that this item doesn’t have the bulky qualities of a traditional wool scarf.
Apparently we are due an extremely cold winter having experienced a relatively mild October and with such conditions expected gloves are almost a mandatory piece of clothing for keeping warm. There are a few styles worth considering this year but none have the sophistication and elegance of a leather design- they’ll last a lifetime and add a touch of class to any outfit. Alternatively, Fred Perry have new fairisle glove which looks great when paired with plain coloured outfits.
It can be hard to make a beanie hat look sartorially astute but Paul Smith has tackled this taboo with a range of luxury headwear, 2 with the signature brand multi-stripe and 3 more in tasteful dark wintery hues. All made of 100% wool, these new designs are worth their premium price, the chunky styles will come in handy for work or play. For a smarter style, Ralph Lauren’s flat caps ooze quality.
Extravagant socks have been hugely on-trend all year and having started with bold colours we now see a multitude of detailed prints adorn the thicker winter warmers.
…And the rest
The possibilities don’t end there when it comes to accessorizing this winter; wallets, watches and belts are all vitally important to a man’s style and are the best options when it comes to Christmas gift ideas.
