Pharrell Williams previous Collaboration with Adidas
The last collaboration between Adidas Originals and Pharrell saw the recreation of Superstar. The Adidas Superstar has been around since 1969. The sneaker officially took off in 1986, in this year a song was release called “My Adidas” where a rap group created a song dedicated to the shoe.
They spit my Adidas cuts the sand of a foreign land / with mic in hand I cold took command / my Adidas and me, close as can be / we make a mean team, my Adidas and me / we get around together, rhyme forever / and we won’t be mad when worn in bad weather and then went out and took stages everywhere while rocking the shoes exactly as they did in the streets: With the tongues pushed out and the laces undone.
2015 saw Pharrell Williams collaborating with Adidas Originals and released 11 new colorways of the Superstar. After the success of this collaboration the brand decided to create the new release of Supershell again with the famous Pharrell Williams.
