Dutch brand G-Star RAW know as well as anybody how to create an eye-catching product and judging by their latest summer collection they have done that in abundance for 2015. The denim specialists are known for their unique futuristic style, as opposed to rival labels who focus on heritage instead. G-Star tend to avoid using traditional washed looks and methods in favour of creating the fuller RAW wash, an original feature of their jeans. The G-Star RAW collection on the whole features an eclectic range of styles and products, take a look at the highlights below:
G-Star’s signature design trait is the architectural “3D” fit which follows the contours of the body allowing the wearer to find a greater detail of fit. Primarily used on the slim fits, the Arc pant is a good example of how the technology is utilised to greater refine the jeans to the shape of its wearer by giving what the brand calls a “corkscrew” effect, whereby the material turns around the leg using extra panelling and twisted seam to create an asymmetric fit that is unique to G-Star, wrapping around the wearer’s leg.

G-Star RAW was set up in Amsterdam as “Gap Star Clothing” in 1989 and was notable for creating styles influenced by a military aesthetic. Since expanding to become an international brand they have used the G-Star RAW moniker instead, mainly to avoid confusion with other brands but also to put focus onto their unique RAW denim treatment. Today G-Star RAW continues to develop a reputation for forward thinking clothing design, evidenced by collections like the RAW for the Oceans capsule which uses recycled materials to create their usual high quality product, in partnership with musician Pharrell Williams.
