The Puma Roma Trainer
The Roma was inspired and named after the 1960 Summer Games held in Rome, Italy. After 8 years of development with Puma’s top athletes, the Roma made its debut on the world stage in Mexico City at the following Summer Games.
The Roma proved to be a world-class athletic trainer and popularity on-track led to the Roma becoming a casual staple, even before the days of terrace fashion. It has had many variations over the year with none more sympathetic to the original than the SS17 edition.
Available from the 26th January 2017, we have the newest edition of the Puma Roma trainers available in brown suede with a white leather stripe.
The Puma Dallas Trainer
The Puma Dallas – One of the sought after trainers of the 1980’s. This updated execution pays tribute to the heritage of a Puma icon. Popularity for this style developed amongst specific sub-culture throughout the UK, most notably b-boys and football casuals.
The Dallas features suede uppers and leather form stripe and is available at Mainline Menswear from 26th January 2017 in black.
The History of Puma
Puma is a German multinational company that designs and manufactures athletic and casual footwear, apparel and accessories. The company was founded in 1948 by 2 brothers initially named Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik. The relationship between the 2 brothers deteriorated causing them to split in 1948 and form 2 separate entities – Puma and Adidas.
Puma has continued to thrive throughout the years (Adidas hasn’t done too badly either) and has an impressive and versatile collection of footwear, clothing and accessories. They have also collaborated with top designers including Alexander McQueen and Hussain Chalayan. Although Puma continues evolve and diversify their collection, they still remain true to their origins by re-releasing the classics – in this case the Roma and Dallas.
Whether you’re looking for classic lace up trainers or the comfort of modern trainers, Puma has a style to fit. Check out the current collection at Mainline Menswear now!
