How To

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. Knowing what to wear on your date (whatever it may be) can be daunting. We’ve got you covered with different ways to put yourself together for the big evening. Once you know where you’re going or what you’re doing, then it’s time to start planning what to wear.

Whether it’s dressed up, dressed down or anywhere in-between, we have the perfect picks to ensure you impress your date this Valentine’s Day. The only thing you need to worry about is making the reservation… oh, and don’t forget the flowers!

First Thing’s First

The most basic yet most essential tip – Dress for the occasion! Over dressing is just as bad as under-dressing, so make sure you get it right for whatever you’re doing. Gone are the days where there were only two different date options; the restaurant and the cinema – if only it was still that easy!

If you’re doing something more fun like bowling, ice skating or even staying in and cooking a meal, your first clothing choice wouldn’t be a shirt and tie. Also remember some places do have a dress code, so do your research!

The Dinner Date

If you’ve booked a table at a fancy restaurant, you’ll want to dress to impress and opt for something smart. This will usually include a formal shirt with a blazer paired with trousers and smart shoes… Not forgetting the tie!

The Cinema Date

The cinema date will always be a successful date destination. A smart casual outfit will definitely suffice here. If you’re going for food/drinks as well, you may want to dress it up a little. We suggest a simple white shirt and jeans combo. Too smart for your liking? Throw a bomber jacket over the top to dress the outfit down a little.

Bowling requires a lot more movement than dinner or a movie. Wearing tight fitting clothing to go bowling could end up being a pretty embarrassing mistake… You can get away with a fairly casual outfit here so a polo shirt, chinos and your fave white trainers will do just fine – not too restrictive either.

Eating In/Cooking Her a Meal

Left: EA7 Emporio Armani Core ID Polo Shirt | Middle: Levis Line 8 Slim Tapered Jeans | Right: Emporio Armani 2 Pack Socks

Probably the easiest option to find an outfit for as you won’t actually be leaving the house. This still doesn’t mean you can look like a slob though. A polo shirt and jeans combination will mean you’re comfortable and also look like you’re making the effort. If no shoes are involved with this outfit, you may want to put a clean pair of socks on too!

This can seem a lot to take in for just one date, but ensuring you follow this guide to the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit and be prepared for it, you can’t go wrong!
