What You Need At The Beach: Mens Guide 2018
It’s that time of year, the sun is out, and the beach is packed. But what do you need to bring for that afternoon by the sea?
Mainline Menswear have the ultimate guide ready, taking you top to toe on what you need to stay stylish at the beach.
Hats & Caps
Not only stylish, but a designer cap will keep the top of your head safe from the sun. Not to mention the combination of salt and water will dry your hair out, meaning you’re unlikely to be having a good hair day anyway. The solution? A great-looking, designer hat!
We recommend: Adidas Originals Trucker Cap – with its unique marble effect, this well-known brand adds a twist to your headwear that’s sure to help you stand out for all the right reasons.
Sunglasses are a must if you’re spending your time by the sea. You’ll be more comfortable sunbathing and won’t need to deal with the sun’s annoying glare. Plus they’ll look great.
We recommend: Tom Ford Dimitry sunglasses in black. Loud and proud, these are a great statement piece and will look almost too fancy for the seaside.
Moving down to the chest, we think if it’s hot enough, the beach is probably one of the few places you can get away with going topless. However, if the idea makes you a little nervous, then a vest will keep you cool and won’t stand out on those sunny shores.
Even if you don’t want to go into the sea, trunks are very much needed. Really the only suitable “trouser-wear” for the beach. You don’t want to be that one guy lying in the sand with jeans on.
We recommend: If you’ve been reading our previous summer advice you’d know we’re fans of swimming trunks in colourful patterns. But for a change of pace, why not try these more subtle Hugo Boss Octopus swim shorts in blue? Simple but stylish, with the iconic logo running up one leg, these are bound to impress.
Finally, you need to accept the fact that you’re going to get sand in your shoes. So what do you do? Don’t wear shoes at all and go for a pair of our designer sliders! Comfortable to walk in and perfect for the beach, you can slip them off with ease in order to feel the sand between your toes.
We recommend: Mainline Menswear’s collection of Birkenstock sandals are made from quality leather and are comfortable to boot.
A Bag To Put It All In
Finally, you need a large tote bag or rucksack to pack the essentials. What do we mean by essentials? Towels, suncream and your bucket and spade.
We recommend: Herschel’s retreat backpack in navy. This is a great bag: big and sturdy, but it also looks great with two leather shoulder straps and stud fastening. An everyday backpack that will make taking your beach essentials easy peasy lemon squeezy.
