If you’ve spent time contemplating how you can afford even the little things in life whilst you’re on a budget, you’re not the only one. Luckily, Mainline Menswear is here to help by showcasing all the options available to you.
Most people tend to overlook the possibility of changing up your look without spending a penny. Plenty of people would like new clothes and cannot afford them and those who are like-minded, swap meets are a blessing.
They may not be a regular event, but when they do occur they are a great way to get rid of some of the old items you’ve been seen in for far too long, and trade up for a fresh look.
One other way that you can change up your look without dipping into your finances is some home DIY. Switching up a t-shirt into a vest by slashing off the sleeves or adding some rips into your jeans at the legs or back pockets can change some old rags into some seriously stylish clothing. All you need is a pair of scissors and a few spare minutes to transform your style.
Another aspect many tend to overlook is that of the online shopping experience. This does not mean that people are unaware of its existence, merely that most do not take full advantage of the opportunity.
Something as simple as following the social media accounts of online retailers will give you = the chance to find out when sale prices change and when promotions come into play, discounting top of the line products. Therefore, following as many of your favourite retailers as possible is highly recommended, such as our very own Mainline Menswear social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
Another option available to you is to mix and match. Perhaps you can even look back through the old clothes you’ve worn too many times and start trying out new combinations. An old pair of jeans you put aside may go well with those new shoes. Maybe some old flannel shirts you stopped wearing could be a great partner to some of your new Mainline shirts.
Accessorising is also a great way to refresh your look without breaking the bank. If splashing out on on designer shirts and jeans is too costly for you at the moment, throw on some added extras instead. A hat and belt combination or a new pair of sunglasses could add just the right amount of extra style to refresh your look.
Of course, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself looking up to date and fresh. Charity shops are a goldmine for old styles of the biggest brands, and can always be brought back into style with the addition of some new accessories.
There is an abundance of online market places where fellow fashion heads can communicate to buy and sell their old looks for low cost. These places include, but are not limited to, Depop, Joom and Ebay.
Finally, one cannot stress enough the importance of clearance sections. Commonly thought of as an in-store feature, many websites, including ourselves at Mainline, carry a great range of leftover stock packed with style to fill out your wardrobe.
