Lavenham Jackets
Lavenham Jackets
Mrs Elliot made the first nylon quilted horse rug in 1969, and in the process started the Lavenham Rug Company in Lavenham, Suffolk. The nylon was seen as a durable and quality material that would withstand the rigors of outdoor life and pursuits, this perception has grown with the brands reputation in the past forty years. Growth in the UK has seen a relocation, via Long Melford, to Sudbury in a new purpose built factory, a major exportation into Japan and Italy and the release of the brand on mens designer clothes retailers Mainline Menswear. Lavenham have been producing quilted jackets since the early 70s with early sales originally intended for the conscious rider, since the quilted jacket revolution in fashion the brand has greatly increased its profile, but are also considered 'up there' for their mens and womens jackets with another UK favourite, and producer of quilted coats, Barbour.
The award winning Lavenham menswear collection features fantastic quilted coats, hooded jackets, duffle coats and quilted bodywarmers, all carrying the Lavenham name and the same durability and quality that saw the brand grow and expand rapidly over the past years. The colour range is set to expand also over the next few seasons, with bright eye catching colours accompanying the diamond print nylon, and occasionally cotton. Lavenham has been a designer brand with British heritage for the past forty years, and the next forty years looking as equally as promising.
