Brand New Footwear for 2015
January is a perfect time to update the shoe rack and add an extra spring to your step for the new year ahead.
We are kicking off 2015 with a review of the best new footwear available to buy right now.
Find a style to suit you
If what’s on your feet sets the tone for the rest of your look then it’s going to be important to choose what goes on them with care. As we are about to enter a bit of a transitional period in terms of the season there’s going to be a lot of people searching for middle ground between style and substance in terms of shoes. Whether you spend most of your days in casual trainers or prefer a solid shoe or boot to get you through the working week, take a look at which of this year’s designs we think are going to be most popular this year.
The good thing about Converse is that anyone can wear them and they’ll go with more or less anything in your wardrobe. They’re perfect for any season but if you find canvas a bit lightweight for the winter season or have at some stage experienced the perils of getting your feet soaked in the rain when wearing them, you’ll find their new leather high-tops are perfect for dispelling these qualms- most importantly, they look good too! Even if that style isn’t to your taste, the low tops have been re-invented in the same way too. The new Jack Purcell and Chuck Taylor designs breathe fresh life into the distinctive All-Star silhouette, the distinctive collaboration editions are perfect for teaming with denim in a casual look and offer something unique for those who like have something different.
As always there is a large helping of new footwear available from Nike, of which the most intriguing arrivals is the selection of “Mids” that they have now created in large numbers. Nike have now embarked on a mission to transform their most revered silhouettes- it seems- into mid-top “sneakers”, the type which have become so popular as part of an urban lifestyle look just of late. Nike Air, Roshe Run, and now the Internationalist have all undergone the transformation- the Air Max series in particular works well in this guise, with a vast number of colourways available across the Air Max 1, 90 and Light silhouettes.
There is a surprisingly large collection of Lacoste footwear at Mainline Menswear in casual, sporty and smart styles. The new styles have just arrived for the Spring and Summer seasons and within them you will find espadrilles, flip flops and deck shoes, all of which are new to the French label’s ranks. Last season’s Sport Light trainers have been developed in a series of new colours, perfect for the street-wear look created by Lacoste L!ve clothing, and as if that wasn’t enough there is also a brand new trainer called the Sport Active Light which comes in two varying styles and 5 separate colours.
Experts in casual trainers, adidas will assume their usual mantel with a stream of new designs in 2015. Their esteemed ZX Flux is the current pick of the bunch and is available on site in three limited edition colourways. The eccentric designs suggest these collectable trainers are for the real aficionados out there who might wear these as part of a diverse street wear outfit. But if that look doesn’t tickle your fancy then don’t worry because the German powerhouse loves to re-master it’s old classics and there is already evidence of that this year with the Hamburg in black and gold, both of which have been resurrected from the 80s casual movement roots into the modern day with a tasteful translucent gum brown rubber sole, endless wear and timeless style.
And finally, just as we have already discussed about their rivals, Nike, the midsole sneaker is clearly seen as the next big trend for the year ahead because adidas have likewise amended their ZX Flux silhouette into a new modified “NPS mid trainer” in an all-black exterior. The specialist shoe looks best suited to the popular monochrome look, whereby the person channelling the look will mix different textures and shades of black.
Shoes & Boots
But its not all about the trainers in terms of new year footwear and in fact it is arguably more important to kit yourself out with more substantial styles of footwear at this time of the year, such as boots, brogues and shoes for example. Look carefully and you will find a pair of new Clarks Originals online at Mainline Menswear, these are a pair of desert boots which will be perfect for knocking around town or dressing up to look suave on a night out. Looking ahead to later on in the year you’ll more than likely find that Armani’s loafer is one which will likely be very popular in the warmer part of the year.
