Mainline Menswear is one of the largest independent retailers of designer clothing in the UK, carrying all of the biggest names in the world of fashion. In line with continuous company growth we are looking to recruit a talented Back End Web Developer. Working within the existing web development team and reporting to the Head of Development the successful applicant will be responsible for helping to maintain and develop the companies’ websites, databases and in-house systems.
Located on the outskirts of Scarborough, close to the A64, Seamer train station and public transport with free parking.
The role is full time, office based, and the working hours are 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

Help to maintain the eCommerce websites databases.
Enhance and expand the APIs that power the company websites and apps.
Implement best practice web security to further protect the business.
Help to develop new tools or functions for the wide range of company websites, apps and in-house tools.
Support other departments with troubleshooting and problem-solving back end systems.
Become a key part of the department’s and companies’ ongoing growth plans.
Experience and expertise in web development is preferred but not essential as we would be willing to interview high calibre graduates, and allow for a ‘learning on the job’ culture.
Basic knowledge in at least two of the following: MYSQL, MSSQL, PHP, JSON, XML
Knowledge of RESTFUL and/or SOAP APIs, Node.JS, Big Query, Kubernetes, Web Infrastructure Security and working within an Agile Workflow would be advantageous but not necessary.
Must be able to self-organise and manage / plan your own time effectively.
Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification preferred but not essential.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships both internally and externally.
Passionate and proactive about best practice, consistency and attention to detail.
The ability to react to all situations positively and quickly.
A positive attitude and energetic approach to any task.
Flexibility – ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing dynamic business environment which will require the job holder to manage a large volume of high priority tasks.
Display a forward-thinking nature and be confident to communicate potential hurdles to the team and other departments.
