EA7 vs. Armani Collezioni vs. Emporio Armani

Armani is a famous Italian fashion brand, founded by Giorgio Armani in 1975. It manufactures and produces thousands of different types of goods, including clothing, footwear and accessories. Within the Armani brand, there are several sub-brands and diffusion lines.

At Mainline Menswear, we’ve decided to highlight three of these, and give you more detail about each of them. They are three diffusion lines that we stock ourselves: EA7 Emporio Armani, Armani Collezioni and Armani Jeans.

EA7

Emporio Armani was one of the first lines created under the Armani name. It focuses on modern trends and features ready-to-wear and runway collections. Emporio Armani is the only diffusion line of Armani which was mainly designed by Giorgio Armani himself. The current faces of this brand are tennis star Rafael Nadal and singer Rihanna.

EA7 Emporio Armani is the sporty line of the sub-brand. It was created in collaboration with Reebok in 2012. The EA7 line includes a large range of sportswear and equipment. They stock training bags, trainers, tracksuits, t-shirts, shorts and more – all designed for comfort and athletic practices.

The EA7 brand is frequently becoming known as ‘athleisure’ clothing – a combination of leisure and sports clothes. This is due to the versatility of the brand, as many of the polo shirts and jackets available can be worn in casual situations. Therefore, it’s not just limited to sport, and much like many of the Armani ranges, can find a purpose in every man’s life.

Armani Collezioni

Armani Collezioni – formally Giorgio Armani Le Collezioni – is a sub-label of Armani. It ranks as one of the more expensive labels, producing high-quality business wear aimed at the older age group. First founded in 1979, Armani Collezioni provides made-to-measure tailored suits and shirts.

The demographic of the brand is the smarter gentleman, that needs formal wear on a daily basis. Slim-fit styles run throughout the brand, creating a tailor-made look for the wearer. Recently, it has branched out from shirts and suits, to include t-shirts, jumpers, jeans and accessories within the Collezioni name.

Armani Collezioni Active has also been created within the brand, providing more athleisure clothing for a slightly older gentleman.

Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani is a collection of denim clothing, created in 1981. This diffusion line does not feature Giorgio Armani’s signature simplicity, and instead boosts a more diverse range of colours and styles. The denim produced by Emporio Armani is of the highest quality, and both raw and selvedge denim is available.

Like the other diffusion lines of Armani, the Emporio line no longer only produce denim. All the Armani lines are gradually coming together, to produce similar ranges of clothing, but each has its own twist based on which line they came from.

Emporio Armani now sells jackets, jeans, footwear, shirts and accessories. However, the Jeans line still specialises in denim and is where you will find the highest quality denim products within Armani.
