Born in Long Island, New York, 1959, Michael Kors is an American fashion designer who along with his namesake brand has become internationally renowned. Kors always had a passion for designing clothes from a very young age. Whilst a student he began making his own clothing and before he knew it he had convinced fashion buyers from highly regarded boutiques to feature some of his designs. By 1997, he had developed a reputation on the New York scene as one of the bright up-and-coming designers with highly valued collections in all of the top department stores. The signature style has become known as a luxury take on American sportswear, with brand portraying a jet-set lifestyle through adverts at the airport, on luxury yachts or on safari for example.
