A Brief History of Hackett
A London-based menswear expert, the label was founded in 1979 by Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings, two gentlemen whose beginnings were a little more humble than the brand's stature these days might suggest. Hackett began life as a market stall in what is known as the wrong end of Chelsea, but the empire has grown spectacularly. With its headquarters still based in London, the Hackett brand has even grown to incorporate children's wear and a wide and varied range of accessories for good measure.
A fair number of celebrities have been spotted in Hackett clothing and accessories, too, which never hurts the popularity of a brand. The actor Thomas Darchinger was recently spotted out and about in Hackett, with a style that is very much rooted in the smarter side of the market.
In 2005, the company employed a brand new technical director, Michael Sondag, who joined from the clothing giant Tommy Hilfiger. This certainly didn't hurt the reputation of this steadily growing clothing empire.
