adidas Originals x Nigo

Written by Eleanor | 10/08/2016

NigoAdidas has been a leading sportswear brand since its founding in 1949 in Germany. It has branched out into the world of fashion and is now one of the most recognised labels worldwide. Due to their constant influx of new, creative ideas, there’s nothing in the Adidas range which isn’t special.

From footwear, to sports clothing, to high end fashion to equipment – Adidas is at the forefront of many markets and doesn’t intend to slow down. One of their most recent collaborations was with Japanese fashion designer, DJ and record producer, Nigo. They came together in late 2015 to create a new range of clothing, inspired by the Japanese designer.

Nigo is already very well known in the fashion industry. He is the founder of A Bathing Ape clothing, commonly known as Bape; and also co-owns Billionaire Boys Club alongside Pharrell Williams. He prefers to design printed t-shirts and hoodies, very popular among teenagers and has also released a famous sneaker – the Bapesta.

In the music industry he has worked with artists like Pharrell Williams and Kanye West, and is the DJ of Japanese hip hop group Teriyaki Boyz. He also owns his own record label, and produces tracks for many artists all around the world.

His collaboration with adidas Originals, had been highly anticipated. The range he designed includes t-shirts, hoodies, sweat pants, jeans and footwear – all combining a mix of the famous Adidas style, with Nigo’s own original taste.

Large graphic prints feature on almost all of the items, synonymous with how Nigo likes to dress himself. These products are perfect for casual wear, or to create your own unique street style for the weekends. You’re sure to make a statement look no matter how you wear them.
